Overview

Responsibilities:

  • Maintain adequate accounting records of all assets, liabilities and transactions of the hotel
  • In conjunction with Department Heads, initiate and enforce measures and procedures whereby the business of the hotel is conducted with maximum safety, efficiency and economy and in accordance with established standards
  • Ensure all reporting deadlines are met internally and externally
  • Ensure month-end reconciliation of all accounts are done properly
  • Maintain adequate bank balances and reporting in writing to the Director of Finance any foreseen cash deficiencies
  • Ensure there is a physical count and valuation of all food and beverage and operating supplies, and reconciliation of the same
  • Ensure there is a quarterly and yearly physical count and valuation of all operating equipment inventories (linen, china, silver and glass) and of Retail Inventory
  • Provide assistance to Department Heads and Finance Director in preparation of monthly, annual reports and revised profit and capital appropriation budgets
  • Participate in monthly, quarterly and yearly forecast as well as in budgeting process
  • Maintain adequate records to reflect the comparison of the actual expenditures for operating equipment, furniture and equipment and special projects with the annual budgeted amounts
  • Approve all monthly journal vouchers before they are posted to the general ledger
  • Ensure accurate monthly closing of books and preparation of monthly financial statement of operations
  • Supervise timely preparation and mailing of invoices and monthly statement of all credit accounts and the subsequent regular mailing of invoices and monthly statement of all credit accounts and the subsequent regular mailing of reminders and collection letters
  • Other job related duties

Required Qualifications:

  • Higher education in Finance and Accounting or related major
  • At least 3 years of work experience in a related position. Experience in hospitality and in cost control preferred
  • Advanced user of Microsoft Word and Excel. Prior 1C, MICROS and Opera expertise required
  • Ability to communicate effectively
  • Problem solving and analytical skills
  • Exceptional organizational skills
  • Excellent knowledge of Armenian, Russian and English languages
