Overview

The Armenian Volunteer Corps (AVC) is seeking a Communications Coordinator to join a growing organization whose mission is to serve Armenia through international volunteers and to promote Armenia internationally as a volunteer/intern/travel abroad destination. The ideal candidate must have excellent verbal and written communication skills, be highly organized, and be an energetic, creative, flexible individual who is interested in recruitment as well as managing and develop well-run volunteer programs. In collaboration with the Communications team, the incumbent will create relevant and timely content (SM posts, newsletters, blogs) to reach target audiences, increase the effectiveness of our online presence, and respond to all engagements received via ad campaigns and posts. We are looking for someone aware of current digital media tools and trends and who has a sharp eye for identifying and presenting stories about our programs’ impact.

Responsibilities:

Content:
- Imagine and create disruptive content for Social Media platforms (FB, Instagram, VKontakte, LinkedIn, Twitter, YouTube, Telegram, etc.)
- Write and/or edit blogs, Mailchimp pieces, newsletters
- Manage website content and SEO efforts, ensuring the website is consistent with branding guidelines, updated with relevant content and images, and provides a seamless, positive user experience
- Coordinate the production of photo and video materials to highlight on various channels independently and with outsourced specialists
- Oversee our paid strategy by coordinating digital marketing efforts including Google Ads process from ad creation, keyword lists, daily monitoring, and analysis, etc. and SM ads
- Coordinate with volunteers and alumni by engaging in regular and meaningful interactions to identify stories to highlight
- Schedule periodic volunteer site and excursion visits, as needed
- Identify and supervise prospective volunteers’ individual projects related to marketing Reporting:
- Prepare monthly reporting documents including collecting, reviewing, and analyzing data
- Analyze web, social media, and other digital analytics to track and measure the impact of various campaigns, ultimately developing data driven decisions to increase efficiencies of our messaging PR/Outreach:
- Support virtual outreach efforts including capitalizing on influencers and organizing events to relevant communities (Armenian teachers, seniors, students, etc.)
- Coordinate inquiry-to-applicant conversion efforts, increasing the ultimate number of applicants
- Field and process incoming AVC inquiries in a timely and professional manner, as well as carry out all necessary follow-up with prospective volunteers
- Support PR team with improving our presence on local and international media, identifying the best stories to tell; Other:
- Frequently research the latest digital trends to come up with creative campaign ideas that will drive inquiries up and increase the number of qualified applicants
- Attend relevant trainings necessary to improve communications and marketing skills
- Participate in excursions and assist with AVC special projects, new initiatives, or community service activities, as needed
- Ensure filing of communications related documents, reporting, and media is maintained and updated in relevant shared folders
- Working with the internal team of developers and the AVC team, build CRM processes directly into a new Volunteer
- Management System that will ultimately support the Communications’ team’s daily operations
- Other tasks as required by the Board and senior staff

Required Qualifications:


- University undergraduate degree, preferably in Communications, Marketing, or similar field
- Experience in creative content writing
- Strong online media communication skills (email, social networks, etc.) and best practice knowledge of Social Media platforms i.e. FB, Instagram, LinkedIn, VK, Google Analytics, AdWords, etc.
- Passion and interest in new social media trends
- Excellent English and Armenian language skills required and knowledge of Russian preferred
- Excellent verbal, written, and oral communications skills
- A focused self-starter with excellent organizational, time management, networking, and prioritizing skills
- Creative and resourceful problem solver, able to independently identify and troubleshoot operational challenges
- Strong team orientation, interpersonal skills, judgment, and ability to work effectively in collaboration with diverse groups of people (diverse ethnicities, backgrounds, and ages)
- Strong flexibility and positive outlook, with a commitment to the value of great service
- Strong administrative skills, with ability to multi-task multiple priorities and activities simultaneously, meet deadlines, and take initiative
- Excellent computer skills (Microsoft Office, Google Workspace)
- Graphic design, photography, and/or video production skills and knowledge (i.e. InDesign, Illustrator, Canva, Adobe Photoshop, Premiere Pro, etc.) is a plus
