The Generalist Field Officer will be supporting operational activities related to ICRC strategies and programmes according to the objectives set.

  • Contributes to the implementation and follow up various field activites, in accordance with ICRC objectives
  • Monitors the humanitarian environment and needs, and analyses the security, socio-economic, cultural and political environment as relevant to the ICRC, shares relevant information with colleagues and reports any changes in the situation
  • Contributes to the desiging of various ICRC projects
  • Collects, compiles, translates/interprets information about the projects and contributes to written reporting
  • Participates in internal and external meetings, develops and maintains contacts with municipal authorities, local/regional ICRC branches and population
  • Participates in, and may carry out independently, administrative follow-up of field projects
  • Contributes to delivering ICRC objectives and streghthening contacts with sub-delegation programmes


Required Qualifications:

  • University degree, certification in project management will be viewed as an asset
  • At least 3 years of relevant work experience, international humanitarian work experience will be viewed as an asset
  • Good knowledge of spoken and written English, Armenian, Russian
  • Good computer skills
  • Good knowledge of the geographically assigned area
  • Accurate, highly responsible personality, effective at multi-tasking
  • Good communication, organizational and judgment skills
  • Ability to take initiative, to lead and deal with people
