Overview

The International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) Delegation in Armenia is looking for a Health Field Officer.

Responsibilities:

The Health Field Officer will be supporting operational activities related to ICRC’s health programmes according to the objectives set out in the mission. The Health Field Officer:

  • Supports in preparing joint assessments of affected villages and/or communities to reveal health-related threats to the population
  • Contributes to the planning, monitoring and implementation of set projects by the ICRC
  • Participates in analysis of and reflection on the overall health situation; contributes to realistic project proposals in line with the mission’s objectives and priorities
  • Carries out logistical tasks regarding medical items, including for staff-health issues when necessary, and organizes distributions to beneficiaries in the field
  • Liaises with local stakeholders, as well as authorities to facilitate communication and coordination of activities, thereby ensuring more efficient implementation of health programmes
  • Supports in the organization and coordination of joint programmes, as well as working meetings and drafts relevant reports on meetings and field activities
  • Supports in the conduct of various training activities

Required Qualifications:

  • University degree in medicine or relevant qualification  
  • At least 3 years of relevant work experience, international humanitarian work experience will be veiwed as an asset
  • Excellent knowledge of spoken and written English, Armenian, Russian
  • Computer proficiency, special accent on spreadsheet software
  • Excellent organizational skills, ability to take initiative and to work independently
  • Disciplined and accurate personality
  • Capacity to adhere to and implement specific procedures
  • Advanced communication and negotiation skills
