Junior IT Systems Administrator

What’s it like working as a Junior IT Systems Administrator at Questrade?

Assist with Support and maintenance of Linux (Red Hat Enterprise Linux & CentOS) and Windows (2016+) server systems.

Assist with Deploy solutions, security patches and software update  packages through Satellite and SCCM and other automation tools

Assist with Troubleshoot, problem isolation, and solution implementation, proactively identify and address potential issues from both a hardware and software perspective

Assist with modern IT automation tools like Ansible, Saltstack and Terraform.

Occasionally maintains, analyzes, troubleshoots, and repairs PC and Mac related hardware and peripherals.

Occasionally maintain accurate PC, printer, software and LAN equipment inventory through inventory tracking software

Collaborates with other teams.

So are YOU our next Junior IT Systems Administrator? You are if you have …

University degree in computer science, information technology, business management or equivalent undergraduate program.

At least 1  years experience in the systems development area or Service Desk environment 

Working knowledge of Windows Server 2012 R2/2016

Working knowledge VMWare ESXi 6.x and VCenter

Basic understanding of storage systems (SAN/NAS)

Working knowledge of Google Cloud is a plus

Good familiarity with MS Office tools such as Word and PowerPoint and G suite

Excellent communications skills – fluent in English (oral and written)

Team player with positive energy and ability to energize others

A service-oriented mindset and a willingness to assist the team in any way to ensure project success

Be comfortable with drawing diagrams using MS Visio or similar tools
