ANIF is looking for a senior legal counsel to join our legal team which deals with wide range of areas of law such as foreign investment, private equity, corporate, M&A, contracts, financial regulations, trade, aviation, renewable energy, mining, etc. The counsel will also be engaged in policy making and government relations.
ANIF was established in 2019 with a mandate to consolidate and effectively manage the ownership of Armenian state-owned enterprises, to promote export growth and investments in Armenia by providing co-financing in large-scale projects at their initial stage of development. ANIF’s mission is to support and empower Armenia’s economic development potential. Currently, ANIF’s main projects include Ayg-1 200MW project with Masdar (UAE), Fly Arna (Armenia’s National Airline), Entrepreneur + State Anti-Crisis Investment Fund, ARFI (crowdfunding platform), etc.


- Draft and review transaction documents, memos, legal opinions, corporate governance documents
- Draft corporate policies, regulations and other corporate documentation
- Lead and participate in deal negotiations and executions
- Review and monitor changes in the Armenian legislation and developments of industries that are of interest to ANIF
- Perform legal due diligence of target companies
- Assess legal risks related to ANIF’s and portfolio company’s activities
- Perform other duties as assigned by the manager

Required Qualifications:

- Master’s degree in law; law
- At least 5 years of professional experience, preferrable with both public and private sectors
- Experience working across multiple jurisdictions (both common law and civil law) is strongly desirable
- Experience working with investment funds (contractual and corporate), familiarity with private equity investment structures
- Ability to meet deadlines and work under pressure in a fast-paced environment
- Strong communication skills
- Professional ethics and integrity
- Professional fluency in Armenian, English and French is required. Professional fluency in Russian is strongly desirable
