The American Chamber of Commerce in Armenia (AmCham) is looking for a candidate to be hired for the position of Executive Director. The successful candidate will be responsible for the implementation of AmCham’s mission and vision in accordance with the AmCham Charter, including the strategic development of the organization and its management. He/ she will promote the interests of the organization by advocating for better business regulations and implementation in Armenia.

Responsibilities:
The Executive Director will be responsible for the following:
  • Provide effective communication and represent AmCham on behalf of its members in front of the RA Government, U.S. Government, international and diplomatic community in Armenia, the wider business community, AmCham network worldwide, etc.;
  • Ensure the smooth operation of AmCham office;
  • Develop an annual AmCham Public Relations/ Communications strategy, Events timetable and oversee its implementation;
  • Develop AmCham advocacy agenda based on consultations with its members, Board of Directors, and external parties;
  • Develop AmCham's budget and oversee its accurate implementation;
  • Oversee PR and marketing, media relations, and human resources functions;
  • Maintain strategic alliances with international organizations operating in Armenia;
  • Diversify funding sources of AmCham by cooperating with member companies and international donor institutions operating in Armenia around joint projects;
  • Ensure that AmCham maintains a strong customer-service focus and is responsive to members' needs;
  • Implement strong member engagement mechanisms;
  • Represent AmCham on various working groups and committees;
  • Host and cooperate with U.S. governmental missions to Armenia;
  • Serve as an Editor-in-Chief for all AmCham publications and the website. Oversee the publication of AmCham Business Magazine and Monthly Newsletter;
  • Act as a liaison between AmCham member companies and foreign businesses/ potential investors;
  • Report to the Board of Directors on a regular basis;
  • Implement other tasks, as assigned by the Board of Directors.
Required Qualifications:
  • Master's degree in Business, Economics, Public Policy, and related fields;
  • At least 5 years of managerial experience in business, international, non-profit or public organizations;
  • Fluency in Armenian and English languages; knowledge of other languages is an asset;
  • Understanding of the business environment in Armenia;
  • Developed advocacy skills;
  • Strong interpersonal, organizational, communication, teamwork and coordination skills;
  • Decision-making and problem-solving abilities;
  • Experience in fundraising and/ or lobbying is a plus.
