Overview
SoftConstruct is looking for a Category Manager.
Responsibilities:
- Develop and execute category strategies to drive sales, profitability, and market share growth for specific product categories
- Analyze market trends, customer preferences, and competitor activities to identify category opportunities
- Manage the end-to-end lifecycle of products within the category, from selection and pricing to promotion and discontinuation
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including sales, marketing, and supply chain, to ensure effective category execution
- Conduct regular performance reviews for category performance, identifying areas for improvement and implementing corrective actions
- Build strong relationships with suppliers and vendors to secure the best deals, promotions, and terms
- Monitor inventory levels to ensure product availability while minimizing excess stock.
- Develop pricing strategies for the category to ensure competitiveness and profitability
- Plan and execute product launches and promotional activities to drive sales and consumer engagement
- Provide regular reporting on category performance, including sales, margins, and customer satisfaction metrics
- Carry out other duties assigned by the immediate supervisor that align with the job description and comply with the labor code
Required Qualifications:
- Experience in developing pricing strategies, managing supplier relationships, and working with cross-functional teams
- Knowledge of market research, consumer behavior analysis, and category performance metrics is highly preferred
- Strong understanding of category management processes, product lifecycle management, and pricing strategies
- Ability to analyze market data, sales trends, and competitor activity to identify opportunities and risks
- Proficiency in using category management and analytics software to track performance and optimize decisions
- Experience in vendor negotiations and managing supplier relationships
- Knowledge of inventory management and demand forecasting
- Proficiency in English at a minimum B2 level (CEFR) is required to effectively communicate with international stakeholders and suppliers
- Proficiency in relevant software tools such as ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle), Microsoft Excel, and category analytics tools
- Strong negotiation, communication, and interpersonal skills to manage internal and external stakeholders effectively
- Familiarity with procurement compliance standards, sourcing policies, and contract management processes
