Cloud Security Engineer

• Identify and resolve security issues across the cloud infrastructure
• Build, deploy, and manage security tools and services
• Design and implement scalable processes to provision cloud access
• Maintain a reliable, and user-friendly infrastructure
• Evaluate and respond to alerts and events from security tools
• Tune security tool configuration to minimize false positives
• Develop event response documentation and processes, including diagrams for system environments, cloud operations, and security tools
• Collaborate with security leadership, engineering, and compliance to execute security strategies
• Assist other teams in solving security issues in a manner that complies with business requirements and best practices
• Assess our current cloud security and propose improvements or solutions
• Review our architecture and design through a security lens to provide actionable, timely requirements and recommendations

• Administration and Maintenance of Security tools

• Cloud Platform Expertise:
• Deep experience with major cloud platforms such as Microsoft Azure, or Google Cloud Platform (GCP).
• Familiarity with cloud-native services like AWS IAM, Azure Active Directory, GCP Identity and Access Management, encryption, security groups, and virtual private clouds (VPCs).
• Security Tools & Technologies:
• Knowledge of cloud security tools such as cloud access security brokers (CASBs), encryption tools, and cloud vulnerability scanners.
• Experience with identity management and single sign-on (SSO) solutions.
• Use of security monitoring tools for cloud environments like AWS CloudWatch, Azure Security Center, and GCP Security Command Center.
• Automation and Scripting:
• Proficiency in scripting languages like Python, Bash, or PowerShell for automating security tasks.
• Experience with infrastructure as code (IaC) tools such as Terraform, CloudFormation, or Ansible to automate security configurations.
• Network Security Knowledge:
• Understanding of networking protocols, VPNs, and firewalls as they apply to cloud environments.
• Familiarity with secure access practices, like multi-factor authentication (MFA) and role-based access control (RBAC).
• Security Architecture:
• Experience in designing secure cloud architecture and implementing secure infrastructure designs.
• Understanding of cloud security frameworks, encryption (data at rest and in transit), and best practices for securing APIs, microservices, and containers (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes).
