Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled .NET Developer to design, build, and optimize microservice-based components for a large-scale investment management platform. In this role, you will work with complex domain logic, high-volume financial data, and modern distributed architectures. You will collaborate closely with quantitative teams and business stakeholders to transform financial models and requirements into robust, high-performance software solutions. This position is ideal for an engineer who enjoys domain-rich challenges, clean architecture, and high system reliability.
Client:
Our client is one of the world’s top 10 investment companies, with headquarters in Great Britain. They are building a data marketplace that will aggregate and process data from multiple data feeds and systems, such as stock exchanges, news feeds, stockbrokers, internal quantitative systems, and others.
Project Overview:
The project is a portfolio management solution based on microservices. You will be focused on designing and developing new features and enhancements (this is a new development role, not legacy application support) within a team of professionals that includes asset managers, business analysts, and quantitative developers.

Responsibilities:
  • Design, develop, and maintain microservices based applications using .NET and ASP.NET Core
  • Implement new features and enhancements for the portfolio management platform
  • Collaborate with asset managers, business analysts, and quantitative developers to understand business requirements and deliver technical solutions
  • Develop and maintain RESTful APIs and service integrations
  • Build scalable and reliable solutions for processing high volume financial and market data
  • Participate in system design and architectural discussions and contribute to the evolution of the platform
  • Implement messaging and event driven solutions using technologies such as Kafka, RabbitMQ, Azure Service Bus, or Amazon MQ
  • Optimize application performance, reliability, and maintainability
  • Write clean, well structured, and testable code following engineering best practices
  • Conduct code reviews and support knowledge sharing within the team
  • Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues across distributed systems
  • Work closely with cross functional teams throughout the software development lifecycle
Required Qualifications:
  • 5+ years of experience developing commercial applications on the .NET platform
  • Experience with and a strong understanding of .NET (including the latest versions) and ASP.NET Core
  • Strong focus on new feature development; this role is not a fit for candidates whose main strength is legacy system support and maintenance
  • Experience in developing applications based on microservices architecture
  • Deep understanding of message brokers, with hands-on experience with one of the following: Kafka, RabbitMQ, Azure Service Bus, or Amazon MQ
  • Practical experience with MS SQL Server or PostgreSQL
  • Solid understanding of web services and RESTful APIs
  • Good understanding of DDD
  • Basic understanding of GraphQL
  • Good spoken English
