Overview

The Operational Assistant/Interpreter is responsible to support all WWF Armenia Country Office and in particular the Biodiversity and Sustainable Local Development in Armenia, Biodiversity and Protected Areas Component effectively in all administrative and operational functions on a day-to-day basis. The role is to ensure the effective coordination and monitoring of all designated tasks.

Working Relationships:
Internal – Interact extensively with other departments at WWF Armenia as well as WWF Caucasus, WWF International and National Organizations and Programme Offices through network.
External – Interact with governmental institutions, local communities, donors, NGOs, media, and other programmes and projects with related objectives and activities.

This job description outlines the primary tasks and responsibilities expected from the Operational Assistant/Interpreter. Additional tasks may be assigned according to organizational goals.

Responsibilities:
  • Assist and support the team leader of the project in organizing logistics, various meetings/events;
  • Register, distribute and dispatch the mail, documents, and correspondence;
  • Organize travel/accommodation for the project staff, including negotiating fares, costs, visa applications and itineraries;
  • Answering and directing phone calls;
  • Make orders for stationary as well as various office supplies as required;
  • Ensure and manage the postal service for the office staff;
  • Prepare and translate various documents such as Minutes of Meetings, contracts, management and business plans, strategies etc.;
  • Provide interpretation from Armenian into English and vice versa.
Required Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree in humanities, linguistics, translation, general management, or another related field;
  • At least 2 years of professional experience of administering simple office management tasks;
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills in both English and Armenian.
