Overview

You will join a large-scale engineering team with 500+ engineers contributing to the product globally. While the exact team size may vary, development is organized in cross-functional Agile teams, primarily following Scrum practices. You will collaborate with backend and frontend engineers, product managers, DevOps, and UX designers to continuously improve the platform and deliver business value. Client: The client operates a B2B e-commerce marketplace connecting professional customers, including hotels, restaurants, and catering businesses, with a wide network of suppliers. Project Overview: The platform provides access to a broad assortment of products, helping businesses streamline procurement and move from manual processes to efficient, digital ordering solutions. The product is focused on simplifying purchasing workflows, improving operational efficiency, and enabling business customers in the hospitality and retail sectors to manage orders, suppliers, and inventory through a scalable online platform.

Responsibilities:
  • Design, develop, and maintain backend services.
  • Implement high-performance, reliable, and secure APIs to support core marketplace functionality.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams (Product, Frontend, UX/UI, DevOps) to improve the customer journey.
  • Participate in system architecture discussions and contribute to technical decision-making.
  • Optimize database performance and ensure data integrity across services.
  • Integrate external services, including payment providers and transaction-heavy systems.
  • Ensure code quality through testing, reviews, and adherence to best engineering practices.
  • Monitor, troubleshoot, and resolve production issues to maintain platform stability.
  • Continuously improve existing solutions with scalability, maintainability, and business goals in mind.
Required Qualifications:
  • Strong background in backend development with PHP, preferably using Symfony.
  • Hands-on experience with MySQL and designing efficient data models.
  • Solid understanding of RESTful APIs and service-oriented architecture.
  • Experience with cloud platforms (GCP is a plus), Kafka, caching mechanisms, and distributed systems.
  • Familiarity with payment systems, PSP integrations, or transaction-heavy platforms is a strong advantage.
  • Understanding of SDLC and Agile methodologies (Scrum/Kanban).
  • Proactive mindset with the ability to balance technical and business priorities.
  • Strong collaboration skills and experience working in cross-functional teams.
  • Ability to communicate ideas clearly and constructively in an international environment.
  • Upper-intermediate English or higher for daily communication.
