Overview

We are looking for a detail-oriented Quality Control Engineer to lead and execute data migration testing from legacy databases to AWS cloud environments, specifically leveraging Iceberg. You will play a key role in ensuring data correctness, consistency, and reliability throughout the migration process and beyond.

This position requires a strong background in data validation, testing automation, and collaboration with cross-functional teams to uphold the highest product quality standards.
Project Overview:

Responsibilities:
  • Design and execute data migration testing from legacy databases to AWS cloud (Iceberg).
  • Implement data quality best practices to ensure data correctness, consistency, and reliability across all phases.
  • Prioritize, design, and automate test cases to accelerate delivery timelines while maintaining quality.
  • Build and maintain regression test suites.
  • Collaborate closely with development, DevOps, and data engineering teams to uphold and improve product quality.
  • Follow a robust defect management process to ensure quick turnaround, thorough tracking, and resolution of issues.
  • Identify potential blockers or deviations affecting quality early and communicate them effectively to relevant stakeholders.
Nice To Have:
  • Experience with Apache Iceberg.
  • Experience with data pipeline monitoring and observability tools.
  • Familiarity with additional programming or scripting languages beneficial for test automation.
  • Knowledge of AWS security best practices related to data and testing environments.
  • Experience working in Agile and DevOps-oriented teams.
Required Qualifications:
  • Strong experience with legacy databases and data testing methodologies.
  • Proficient in SQL.
  • Hands-on experience working on legacy-to-cloud data migration projects.
  • Solid understanding of ETL pipelines and AWS cloud services involved in data migration processes.
  • Experience with backend testing frameworks such as Pytest, specifically for data quality validation.
  • Proven ability to design, set up, and maintain test automation frameworks from the ground up.
  • Familiarity with AWS services including Athena, Glue, and Step Functions, with ability to query and validate data using Athena.
  • Understanding of best practices for data quality assurance in cloud migration contexts.
