Job Description

We are seeking a strong, well-rounded Senior Backend Engineer to join our Cloud team at Firebird AI. The ideal candidate excels in fast-paced environments, enjoys solving complex technical problems, and takes ownership from design to production. This is a role for engineers who combine solid software engineering fundamentals with curiosity, adaptability, and a systems-thinking mindset.

Responsibilities:
  • Design, build, and maintain scalable backend services and internal platforms
  • Develop reliable, maintainable, and high-performance software systems
  • Collaborate across infrastructure, network, and engineering teams to deliver end-to-end solutions
  • Participate in architecture discussions, technical planning, and code reviews
  • Debug production issues and improve system reliability, performance, and scalability
  • Take ownership of projects and drive initiatives independently
Required Qualifications:
  • Strong backend engineering fundamentals and problem-solving skills
  • Experience building and operating production-grade systems
  • Proficiency in one or more programming languages such as Go, Python, Java, C++, C#, Rust, or similar
  • Understanding of distributed systems, APIs, databases, and scalable architectures
  • Experience working in Linux environments
  • Ability to work across different layers of the stack when needed
  • Strong communication skills and collaborative mindset
  • Ownership mentality and ability to thrive in ambiguity
Nice To Have:
  • Experience with Kubernetes, cloud infrastructure, or distributed platforms
  • Exposure to AI infrastructure, high-performance systems, or data-intensive workloads
  • Experience with observability, automation, or DevOps tooling
  • Background working in fast-growing startups or high-scale environments
