Overview
Responsibilities:
- Manage database performance tuning, backups, and recovery strategies
- Ensure databases are properly configured for optimal performance, availability, and scalability
- Monitor database performance and implement tuning solutions for slow-running queries, indexes, and overall database optimizations
- Review and optimize SQL queries, database schema design, and server configurations
- Install, configure, and maintain database servers, ensuring high availability and disaster recovery setups
- Perform database upgrades, patches, and migrations
- Design, implement, and maintain high-availability solutions like clustering, replication, and failover
- Plan and execute disaster recovery drills to ensure preparedness in the event of system failure
- Develop and maintain scripts to automate routine DBA tasks such as backups, monitoring, alerting, and performance tuning
- Write and maintain custom scripts for automated deployment and maintenance of database environments
Required Qualifications:
- 2+ years of experience with database administration
- Proficiency in English and Russian languages
- Experience in installation and configuration of information and application systems
- Knowledge of database platforms (MSSQL, PostgreSQL, MySQL)
- Excellent organizational, communication, analytical, and interpersonal skills, and ability to write clear technical documentation
- Excellent problem-investigating and solving skills
- Ability to troubleshoot and resolve database issues quickly and effectively
- Ability to focus while under pressure and pay close attention to detail
