Overview
NDI Armenia is looking for a (Senior) Program Officer, Parliamentary Program.
Responsibilities:
- With supervision from the senior program manager, manage, coordinate and implement NDI's parliamentary young professionals program
- Collaborate with the office of the President of the NA to plan and oversee the program
- Develop a 9-month professional development plan aimed at continued capacity-building activities that strengthen responsibilities that young professionals are involved with
- Establish and maintain relationships with supervisors, parliamentary faction representatives, deputies, standing committee staff and National Assembly staff and departments
- Recruit and onboard parliamentary young professionals, including developing and managing a week-long orientation program
- Monitor program needs, successes, areas of work, recommend actions, and manage program evaluations and improvements
- Work with consultants, NA staff, NDI colleagues and domestic/international experts to identify, develop and implement programs
- Prepare program-related documents, including reports, evaluations, and proposals
- Coordinate with the National Assembly on professional development sessions and events, including around the International Day of Democracy
- Provide ongoing support for young professionals and fellows, facilitating their learning and engagement
- Organize legacy projects and summer reassignments for program participants
- Lead the conceptualization, establishment and operationalization of a young professionals alumni network
- Support the organization and implementation of other parliamentary support programs that NDI conducts
- Fulfill assignments based on requests from the country director and senior program manager
Required Qualifications:
- Minimum of a BA in political science, international relations, communication or a related academic field
- High level of interpersonal and cross-cultural communication skills
- Strong oral and written communication skills, with the ability to create clear and concise documents and reports
- Professional fluency in Armenian and English language, both oral and written, with demonstrated drafting, editing, presenting and communication skills
- Prior managerial and leadership abilities, with experience in supervising teams and organizing trainings, workshops or small scale events
- Strong organizational, and multitasking skills
- Capacity to analyze data, identify solutions, and think innovatively
