Overview

We are looking for a Senior UI/UX Designer with deep cybersecurity understanding to help design our client’s next‑generation EDR/XDR platform—the primary workspace for security professionals who hunt threats, analyze malware, and respond to active breaches. You’ll design interfaces for two very different user groups: Novice Users: IT managers or junior analysts who need clear, simple status updates and intuitive, one‑click remediation paths. Expert Users: SOC analysts and Threat Hunters who require access to raw telemetry, complex visualizations, process trees, and log data—without losing efficiency. This is a role for someone who balances clarity, density, and technical depth while building interfaces that support both ease‑of‑use and advanced investigation workflows. This role is fully remote but requires 3–4 hours of daily collaboration aligned with Japan Standard Time (JST). Client: Our client is a multi-national company dedicated to Cybersecurity. Project Overview: The project focuses on designing the next generation of an advanced EDR/XDR cybersecurity platform used by security professionals for threat hunting, incident response, and malware analysis. The work includes creating intuitive experiences for both novice IT users and expert SOC analysts, visualizing complex security data, reducing alert fatigue, and aligning designs with a modern frontend stack built on Next.js and Shadcn UI.

Responsibilities:
  • Lead UI/UX design for web interfaces across Incident Response, Threat Hunting, and Policy Management modules.
  • Transform complex data (JSON logs, network telemetry, attack chains) into clear and immediately understandable visualizations.
  • Solve the Novice vs. Expert UX challenge with adaptable flows that serve multiple skill levels.
  • Reduce alert fatigue by designing intelligent grouping, prioritization, and visualization strategies.
  • Collaborate closely with engineering to ensure designs align with Next.js architecture and Shadcn UI component patterns.
  • Create structured, interactive prototypes in Figma that simulate real product behavior.
  • Partner with product and cybersecurity SMEs to refine workflows, hierarchies, and visual systems.
Required Qualifications:
  • 5+ years in UI/UX or Product Design for B2B SaaS, technical tools, or data‑heavy dashboards.
  • Understanding of EDR, XDR, SIEM, kill chains, IoCs, event telemetry, and investigation workflows.
  • Ability to design interfaces used by SOC analysts, threat hunters, or incident responders.
  • Experience designing high‑density interfaces (tables, logs, trees, graph views) that remain clear and usable.
  • Ability to visualize complex cybersecurity data and investigative flows.
  • Strong information architecture, hierarchy, and UX problem‑solving skills.
  • Experience designing for React‑based environments.
  • Understanding of component‑driven architecture and how Shadcn/Radix primitives translate into UI.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with engineering teams using modern frontend stacks.
  • Expert‑level Figma skills, including components, auto‑layout, and prototyping.
  • Clear communication, structured thinking, and the ability to present design decisions to technical and non‑technical stakeholders.
Nice To Have:
  • Experience designing for cybersecurity tools (CrowdStrike, Splunk, SentinelOne, Palo Alto, Elastic).
  • Background in dark‑mode‑first design systems.
  • Familiarity with query languages (SQL, SPL, KQL) to better map search workflows.
  • Experience with attack graphs, timeline visualizations, or event correlation UIs.
