Overview

Responsibilities:
  • Act as the technical authority within the squad, guiding design, architecture, and implementation decisions
  • Write, review, and maintain high-quality code that aligns with established coding standards and best practices
  • Ensure the technical feasibility of proposed solutions and alignment with architectural and business goals
  • Advocate for continuous improvement in tools, processes, and development practices
  • Contribute to cross-squad technical problem-solving and competency-building initiatives
  • Lead a team of up to 5 engineers, data scientists, machine learning engineers providing coaching, mentorship, and performance feedback
  • Conduct regular one-on-one meetings to support team members’ growth and goal setting
  • Foster an inclusive, collaborative, and high-performing team environment
  • Serve as the first escalation point for resolving technical or interpersonal challenges within the team
  • Lead sprint readiness by guiding backlog refinement and estimation with the squad
  • Monitor delivery commitments and ensure timely execution without compromising quality
  • Communicate technical updates, progress, and risks clearly to stakeholders
  • Implement best practices for data engineering, including governance and security
Required Qualifications:
  • Proven experience in data engineering, including data integration, ETL processes, and data modelling
  • Experience in Azure Data Factory, SQL, and Databricks to manage end-to-end data workflows, orchestration, and transformation at scale
  • Excellent coding skills using SQL and Python
  • Solid understanding of Azure services, including storage options, compute, networking, and security features
  • Strong communication, collaboration, and stakeholder management skills
  • Experience leading technical teams and working in Agile, cross-functional environments
  • Knowledge of data governance, security, and compliance best practices
