The European Union Mission in Armenia (EUMA) is a non-executive, non-armed civilian Common Security and Defence Policy (CSDP) Mission. EUMA observes and reports on the security situation along the Armenian side of the border with Azerbaijan. It contributes to human security in conflict-affected areas in Armenia and contributes to confidence building between Armenia and Azerbaijan.

The European Union Mission in Armenia (EUMA) offers 21 posts in the Security and Duty of Care, Operations Department, Mission Support Department, and Human Resources Section. EUMA offers working opportunity in an international environment with a professional atmosphere. It is full-time work, in a multicultural environment.

The Training Officer reports to the Head of Human Resources

Responsibilities:
  • To work closely together and to coordinate the responsibilities with the assigned HR Officer;
  • To manage and administer the Mission’s training database, including the preparation of reports on training activities;
  • To assist in the Training budget planning and management, including liaising with the Mission’s Finance, Procurement, Supply, Transport and Travel Sections;
  • To support Human Resources activities, including identification of skills gap across the mission and addressing them, as well as to participate in the identification of best practices;
  • To liaise with different Departments/Sections, to plan organize, coordinate, deliver and evaluate of training activities, including induction briefings, lectures, courses, seminars, workshops and other events (this involves liaising and coordinating with both internal mission actors and external partners);
  • To assist in the development, drafting and distribution of training materials, reports and evaluations;
  • To assist in the delivery of training in locations throughout the Mission’s area of responsibility;
  • To carry out regular office duties and to perform everyday tasks as requested;
  • To undertake any other related tasks as requested by the Line Manager(s).
Required Qualifications:

Eligibility criteria:
  • Medically fit to perform the required duties;
  • Fluency in English and Armenian, both oral and written;
  • Enjoy full civil rights and do not have criminal record;
  • Citizenship of Armenia and/or holding permanent resident and work permits according to Armenian laws;
  • Have fulfilled any obligations imposed on him/her by the laws concerning military service; - Successful completion of a full course of university studies attested by a university degree in a relevant field, where the normal duration in the country awarded is 3 (three) years or more (e.g. Bachelor’s Degree);
  • After having obtained the university degree, a minimum of 4 (four) years of proven and full time relevant professional experience in a relevant field of work (adult education, training, etc.) in the private and/or public sector.

Essential criteria:
  • Ability to write and communicate in a clear and concise manner;
  • Experience in delivering training/teaching/education;
  • Experience in designing and/or managing databases;
  • Experience in positions requiring analytical and organizational skills, with a service and project oriented approach;
  • Willingness to travel for the work of the Section;
  • Very good knowledge and experience of Office Package;
  • Good experience of using data for preparing reports;
  • Excellent administration and organizational skills;

Additional advantageous assets:
  • Professional experience ( advanced skills) working with Microsoft Office: World, Excel, Power Point;
  • Professional experience in an EU and/or International environment;
  • Experience in positions requiring analytical and organizational skills, with a service and projectoriented approach;
  • Experience of working in an intercultural environment, with respect of diversity;
  • Ability to focus on priorities, to monitor and evaluate procedures and processes;
  • Ability to deliver work on time and to agreed standards, even under pressure.
