Overview
We are looking for an experienced Windows Desktop Developer to join our on-site team and work closely with an international remote team. The successful candidate will build and maintain Windows desktop applications in the .NET ecosystem, taking ownership of their work and of spotting what needs to be done next within a distributed team. UWP experience is a significant advantage.
- Design, develop, and maintain Windows desktop applications using .NET.
- Implement new features based on product and technical requirements.
- Work within existing codebases: understand their architecture and make safe, maintainable changes.
- Investigate and resolve bugs, technical issues, and performance problems.
- Participate in code reviews and help maintain coding standards and best practices.
- Drive tasks from requirements through implementation and delivery, communicating progress, risks, and blockers along the way.
- Take the initiative: when a bug, a gap, or a worthwhile improvement surfaces, open a task for it rather than waiting for one to be assigned.
- Improve the application's architecture, reliability, and user experience over time.
- Collaborate with developers, QA engineers, and product managers across time zones.
- 5+ years of professional software development experience, preferably focused on Windows desktop applications.
- Strong professional experience with C# and .NET.
- Hands-on experience with at least one Windows UI technology- UWP, WPF, or WinUI; UWP is preferred.
- Solid grounding in object-oriented programming and software design principles.
- Ability to analyze problems independently and propose practical technical solutions.
- A proven track record on a remote/distributed team, with strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Advanced English, sufficient for daily technical discussion, documentation, and meetings.
- A competitive compensation package
- Health insurance with dental coverage
- Extended sport package
- Online and offline trainings
- English courses
- Paid sick days
- Professional self-development days
- Knowledge sharing sessions
- Access to shared library and free books
- Team-building activities
- Experience migrating or modernizing legacy Windows applications.
- Familiarity with Windows-specific APIs and platform capabilities.
- Depth in more than one of UWP, WPF, and WinUI.
- Automated testing and CI/CD.
- Agile/Scrum environments.
- Collaborating with international teams.
- Ownership: works out what needs doing- whether it came from the backlog or was noticed along the way and drives it to completion without constant supervision.
- Clear communication: shares context, decisions, and blockers proactively, essential when the team is distributed.
- Engineering mindset: cares about maintainability, reliability, and the product's long-term quality.
- Judgment with AI: uses AI tools to move faster without lowering the bar on code quality.
- Continuous learning: picks up new technologies and navigates unfamiliar parts of an existing system.
- C#
- .NET
- UWP
- WPF
- WinUI
