Outline of the role
This role will support Zinc partners in strengthening their public communications and increasing their ability to monitor and stop misinfomation about them.
Working in close collaboration with Zinc partners, the role will contribute to ensuring the accuracy, credibility, and integrity of public communications. The Fact Checker will play a key role in identifying, analysing, and responding to misinformation and disinformation affecting public discourse.
This includes:
– Monitoring information environments, including traditional and digital media
– Identifying and analysing misinformation and disinformation narratives
– Verifying facts, claims, and sources to ensure accuracy of public communications
– Supporting the development of evidence-based communication outputs
– Contributing to rapid response efforts to counter false or misleading information
What you’ll be doing
We are seeking a Fact Checker to support our partners in ensuring the accuracy and credibility of its communications. You will work closely with partner stakeholders and project teams, contributing to content verification, analysis, and response efforts.
You will:
– Verify information, data, and claims used in public communications
– Conduct research using open sources and other available tools
– Identify emerging misinformation trends and narratives
– Provide clear, concise briefings and recommendations to stakeholders
– Support the development of accurate and evidence-based content
– Respond quickly to emerging information threats in a fast-paced environment
– Ensure all outputs align with relevant legal, ethical, and editorial standards
– This is a full-time role running from through 30 June, 2026
Key Responsibilities
– Conduct fact-checking and verification of content prior to publication
– Monitor media and online platforms for misinformation and disinformation
– Analyse information trends and provide actionable insights
– Collaborate with communication teams to ensure accuracy of messaging
– Maintain clear documentation of sources and verification processes
– Manage multiple tasks and deadlines effectively Requirements Section:
Qualifications & Experience
– Experience in fact-checking, journalism, research, or related fields
– Strong analytical and critical thinking skills.
– Experience with open-source research and verification techniques (OSINT is an advantage)
– Familiarity with the information environment, including disinformation dynamics
– Excellent attention to detail and commitment to accuracy
– Strong organisational and time management skills
– Ability to work in a fast-paced, collaborative environment
– Experience working with government, NGOs, or international organisations is desirable
– Fluent Armenian required. English proficiency a plus. Benefits Section:
