Overview

Responsibilities:
  • Lead, manage, and develop the Database Infrastructure Division, including workload planning, prioritization, and performance management
  • Serve as a senior escalation point for complex database incidents, ensuring timely resolution and minimal business impact
  • Design, implement, and maintain enterprise-grade database architectures focused on availability, scalability, reliability, and performance
  • Oversee high availability and disaster recovery solutions, including clustering, replication, and backup strategies
  • Drive proactive performance optimization, monitoring, and capacity planning initiatives
  • Ensure strong database security controls, compliance with internal policies, and regulatory and audit requirements
  • Lead incident management activities, including root cause analysis and preventive improvement actions
  • Promote automation, standardization, and best practices to improve operational efficiency
  • Support team growth through mentoring, onboarding, and knowledge sharing
Required Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field
  • 5+ years of experience in database administration, database engineering, or similar roles
  • Proven experience in team leadership or people management
  • Strong hands-on experience with MS SQL Server, PostgreSQL, and/or Oracle
  • Solid knowledge of high availability, disaster recovery, performance tuning, and database security
  • Strong analytical thinking, decision-making, and communication skills
  • Armenian – fluent, English and Russian – working knowledge
Nice To Have:
  • Master’s degree
  • Background in regulated, mission-critical environments (banking or fintech is a strong advantage)
  • Experience with automation or scripting tools
