Overview
We are looking for a Head of Legal.
Responsibilities:
- Identify and mitigate legal risks associated with the company's business activities
- Assess and manage legal risks related to contracts, intellectual property, employment, litigation, and other areas of potential legal exposure
- Ensure the international holding company complies with all relevant laws, regulations, and corporate governance requirements in every jurisdiction where it operates
- Monitoring changes in legislation and ensuring internal policies are updated accordingly
- Develop and implement strategies to protect the company's intellectual property rights, including patents, trademarks, copyrights, and trade secrets
- Monitor and address any potential infringements of intellectual property rights
- Develop and execute a legal strategy for the international holding company, aligned with its long-term goals and objectives
- Opening new entities with mitigating legal risks
- Oversee the preparation and review of financial statements, coordinate external audits, and collaborate with legal and internal compliance teams to ensure adherence to regulatory frameworks
Required Qualifications:
- 5+ years of experience in a CLO/VP Legal position in international companies
- English - B2+ (with fluency in the Russian language)
- In-depth understanding of various areas of law, such as business law, contract law, employment law, intellectual property law, and other relevant legal areas
- Knowledge of industry regulations and laws affecting the organization's operations to ensure compliance and mitigate risks
- Ability to manage legal disputes, litigation processes, and work closely with external legal counsel when necessary
- Skills in identifying legal risks, developing strategies to manage these risks, and implementing preventive measures
- Familiarity with financial software, enterprise resource planning (ERP) systems, data analytics tools
