Overview

The Senior Android Developer will take technical ownership of the existing My Viva Android application during vendor handover and subsequently maintain, support, enhance and participate in modernization/rewrite of the mobile application.

Responsibilities:
  • Participate in structured KT sessions with the existing vendor.
  • Review and understand the current Android application architecture and source code.
  • Set up and validate the complete local development environment.
  • Review application modules, dependencies, libraries and SDKs.
  • Understand API integrations, authentication/session management and error-handling mechanisms.
  • Review push notifications, deep links, analytics, crash reporting and other third-party integrations.
  • Understand build variants, environment configurations and application configuration management.
  • Review Gradle/build configuration and dependency-management approach.
  • Receive knowledge of known defects, technical debt, workarounds and application limitations.
  • Review security-related implementation and sensitive-data handling.
  • Understand Android signing, keystore management and Google Play release procedures.
  • Participate in reverse-KT and demonstrate independent ability to build, debug and release the existing application.
  • Maintain and enhance the existing Android application during the transition period.
  • Implement new business requirements and application improvements.
  • Participate in technical assessment of the existing application and definition of the target mobile architecture.
  • Support gradual migration while maintaining continuity of the existing application.
  • Improve code quality, performance, security and maintainability.
  • Provide L3 technical support for Android-related production issues.
  • Support production releases, hotfixes and rollback activities.
  • Monitor application health using available analytics/crash-reporting tools.
  • Maintain compatibility with supported Android versions and relevant platform changes.
  • Existing Android solution independently buildable by Viva.
  • Android architecture and dependency documentation.
  • Build/configuration/environment documentation.
  • Google Play release procedure and required ownership transferred.
  • Known issues and technical-debt register.
  • Successful reverse-KT.
  • Ongoing Android releases and production support.
  • Contribution to mobile modernization.
