Overview

We are seeking an experienced Financial Manager to join an international financial services project based in Malta. The role will be based in Yerevan and will be responsible for management reporting, financial planning, regulatory reporting support, safeguarding reconciliations, accounting, audit coordination, and financial modelling.

This is a key role in building the finance function of a newly established regulated financial institution from the ground up. The successful candidate will work closely with senior management, Malta-based colleagues and service providers, and external auditors. The position will also involve regular travel to Malta, including for audit fieldwork.

Responsibilities:
  • Prepare monthly management accounts, financial analysis, budgets, forecasts, and variance reports
  • Maintain the rolling three-year financial plan, including revenue, transaction volumes, and cost projections
  • Prepare financial models and pricing analysis for new products, client segments, and intragroup arrangements
  • Prepare draft regulatory returns and supporting calculations for review and submission
  • Prepare and monitor own funds calculations and identify potential capital requirement issues
  • Prepare daily safeguarding reconciliations between safeguarded funds and outstanding e-money liabilities
  • Maintain accurate accounting records, reconciliations, working papers, and audit documentation
  • Prepare annual IFRS financial statements and coordinate the external audit process
  • Monitor vendor costs, invoices, contractual pricing, and minimum commitments
  • Prepare intragroup recharge calculations and supporting transfer pricing documentation
  • Work closely with Malta-based colleagues and outsourced accounting and corporate services providers
  • Prepare management, board, and shareholder reporting packs
  • Maintain the finance and regulatory reporting calendar and ensure all deadlines are met
  • Collaborate with international stakeholders and support the development of finance processes across Armenia and Malta
Required Qualifications:
  • ACCA or equivalent professional qualification, or substantially completed
  • Minimum 5 years of relevant experience in financial services, banking, licensed financial institutions, or financial services audit within a Big 4 or comparable firm
  • Hands-on experience preparing regulatory or prudential financial reports for a central bank or financial regulator
  • Experience with CBA prudential reporting, including capital adequacy and total capital calculations, is highly relevant
  • Strong knowledge and practical experience in IFRS reporting and preparation of financial statements for audit
  • Strong MS Excel and financial modelling skills
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and financial reporting skills
  • Fluent written and spoken English
  • Ability to work independently and build financial processes and reporting structures from the ground up
  • Strong communication and stakeholder management skills
  • Willingness and ability to travel regularly to Malta, including for audit fieldwork
  • Ability to work effectively in an international and multicultural environment
